With Christmas just around the corner, the folks at CFMA Charlotte are hoping their stockings will have a bit extra stuffing this year. Right now, the Construction Financial Management Association branch is looking for sponsors for its 2019 Casino Night, which is set to take place Thursday, Feb. 21.
“It’s a really fun evening for a very great cause,” said Jennifer Wagner, the CFMA Charlotte Chapter administrator.
In its fifth year, the CFMA Charlotte Casino Night will directly benefit Mental Health America of Central Carolinas. The national CFMA organization has made suicide prevention its main charitable focus after a report came out the construction industry was No. 1 across the country for suicide deaths.
According to Wagner, the Charlotte CFMA chapter was one of the first around the nation to host a suicide prevention summit. In the half-day Continuing Education event, the organization brought together professional mental health organizations and testimonials from people who had been affected by suicide.
“We want to make a difference in our industry,” Wagner said. “Suicide not only is affecting field personnel but also office personnel and everyone in the industry. We’re just exited to help.”
2019 Casino Night needs gift donations as well as sponsors
While the 2019 Casino Night is still a couple of months away, the Charlotte CFMA is looking for sponsors and donations for prize giveaways.
Sponsorships are available at the following levels:
- $300 Table Sponsor: Includes recognition at gaming tables and listing on event board
- $500 Prize Sponsor: Includes recognition at prize area and listing on event board
- $750 Bar Sponsor: Includes two event tickets and listing on event board
- $2,000 Platinum Sponsor: Includes four event tickets and listing on flyers and on event board
We’re happy to announce Practical Software Solutions will be one of the bar sponsors for the 2019 Casino Night. We’ve been members of the CFMA for a few years, and are exited in partnering with them to help benefit this great organization.
CFMA Charlotte is also seeking donations for their big-ticket gift basket raffle items, as well as smaller gifts for giveaways. Wagner said the gift baskets in years past have varied widely, including Panthers and Hornets tickets, gift certificates to spas, wine baskets, Yeti coolers, and a Michael Kors purse.
(This just in: Bobby Fowler, president of Practical Software Solutions, will donate Charlotte Hornets tickets to the event!)
The gift basket prizes are a minimum of $150 and have gone as high as $300 in some cases. Wanger said they also need smaller prizes for people to bid on with their raffle tickets.
“Our gift card tree is very popular,” she said.
The CFMA Charlotte 2019 Casino Night will take place in the Barrel Room at the Triple C Brewery, 2900 Griffith St. in Charlotte. Tickets will go on sale in late December.
