CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 26, 2016) — Practical Software Solutions announced today the sponsorship of its long-time customer, Industries of the Blind in Greensboro.
The Concord-based company was recognized for its donation to IOB's general fund at its Made in IOB event Thursday, Oct. 20. Eight other sponsors were recognized during the event, which took place at IOB's manufacturing facility on West Gate City Boulevard.
The contributions to IOB's general fund will support its mission of enhancing opportunities for people with visual impairments to achieve greater vocational, personal and economic independence.
The gift from Practical Software Solutions is extremely helpful as it will help support IOB's three funding priorities: Assistive technology and adaptive aids, computer training and technology center, and job readiness training and professional development, said Jodie Gisser, the director of development at IOB.
Practical Software Solutions and IOB began their partnership in 2009, when Industries of the Blind chose Sage 500 ERP (then known as Sage ERP MAS 500) for its business management solution.
From the moment we began working with Industries of the Blind, we have appreciated our role in helping their staff achieve greater independence in their jobs, said Vince Stamey, CEO of Practical Software Solutions.
We are happy our donation will help further IOB's mission to provide greater independence in all areas of their employees’ lives.
Sage 500 meets all requirements IOB needs for its manufacturing and distribution operation and is compatible with accessible software such as JAWS (screen reading software) and Vocollect (verbal data entry program).
Practical Software Solutions' products and services are so adaptable, they help to fulfill our vision of eliminating all barriers for people who are blind or visually impaired, said David LoPresti, president of Industries of the Blind.
